Bio
About Lindsey Daniella

I am a self- taught fine artist with 8 years experience in arts, from London and I work in the medium of oil paints. My work glorifies and praises the beauty of black female empowerment whilst questioning the lack of black women presented in a liberal way within contemporary art. As a black women, i am often overlooked by society and stereotyped as ' strong, intimidating or aggressive, even before i speak. Black women are the most under represented people within society and are constantly subjected to racism/colourism from medical bias up to low pay within the workplace.
Within my art, i create a safe place for me and for black women to feel loved and empowered, I create a world where we don’t have to constantly fight off stereotypes, but instead create an environment, where our joy and beauty is celebrated in a serene light . Through my art, i am inspired by African mythology whilst retelling stories from my Ghanian heritage, more of which i have started to develop within my new body of work seen within 'Asase Yaa’
